World Bank Appoints CEO of the International Finance Corporation

The World Bank has appointed a Chinese national, Jin-Yong Cai, to serve as the Executive Vice President and CEO of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

His extensive background in finance was lauded by new Word Bank president Kim Yong Kim In the official Bank press release. And while Kim officially serves as president and chairman of the IFC, Jin-Yong will effectively be in charge of the group's fastest growing institution providing investment and advisory services in eight different industries of the private sector in many developing countries.

 

Jin-Yong is the second non-European or American national to be appointed to this position in the history of the IFC (Moeen Qureshi from Pakistan served in 1977-1980).
