Considering the historical and cultural background of the region and the national experiences, the book analyzes the human rights institutionalization process in Southeast Asia. Focussing on the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), the study aims at underlining how its role can foster a democratic governance of the ASEAN system.
