The 2011 World Economic Forum on Europe and Central Asia

On 8-9 June 2011 in Vienna (Austria) will be held the World Economic Forum on Europe and Central Asia. The 2011 theme is Expanding the Frontiers of Innovation.

The advanced and emerging economies of the region need structural reforms particularly in the areas of labour, services and R&D, in order to regain their competitive edge in a changing global economy.

From this assumption, the Forum aims to focus on three main topics:

. Global Competitiveness
How will new trade routes change the dynamics of regional integration and competitiveness?

. Resource Equation
How can Europe achieve its environmental goals without jeopardizing competitiveness and long-term sustainable growth?

. Risk Resilience
How can the energy nexus between environment, security and competition be better balanced?
